Mental Health Crisis Support

If you are concerned about yourself, friends or family get immediate support and information 24/7 and Text CRISIS to 086 180 2895. You can also request a crisis information text free of charge at our website www.gethelp.ie (opens in a new tab)

If you are concerned about yourself

If you are in a crisis and having thoughts of suicide or considering hurting yourself then please talk to someone you trust before you do anything. Ask a parent, family member or friend to help you and go straight to a GP, out of hours clinic, hospital or garda station and get immediate assistance.

If you are worried about a friend or family member

Because you know them so well you might be the first person to notice the changes in behaviour and mood that can signify that a friend or family member is entering or in a mental health crisis. Ask them if they are OK and if there is anything you can do to help. Talk to a trusted friend or family member about your concerns. DON'T keep them a secret!!

If you feel that your friend or family member is in danger then see our Emergency information below. If the situation is not an immediate crisis you can contact a helpline 24/7 for advice and help and some of these are listed below. You can also visit our crisis assistance resources at www.ineedhelp.ie (opens in a new tab) which has more detailed information on mental health issues, helplines, support groups and safe spaces.
